Toye, Kenning & Spencer has served the City for over three centuries and members of the Toye family have been, and remain, active in their craft guilds of Goldsmiths, Broderers, and Gold and Silver Wyre Drawers.
The guilds and livery companies still flourish in the City, contributing to the country at large with their charitable interests encompassing training, business development and welfare. To be considered for the Livery, it is essential to be a Freeman of the City of London.
Badges of office and chains for Livery Company Masters and Past Masters, Prime Wardens and Wardens are crafted by Toye, Kenning & Spencer in gold and silver, embellished with its trademark vitreous enamelling and hand painting skills. Beautiful brooches are also created by Toye craftsmen for Masters’ wives to commemorate their year of office.
Every year the City’s Livery Companies elect two City of London Sheriffs from among the Liverymen and Toye, Kenning & Spencer is proud to have designed and made many of their superb shrieval chains and badges of office.
Toye has a showroom in Holborn, just outside the Square Mile, where you can see examples of all its products. A wide range of silver, plate, glass and other gifts, including a City of London collection is also available.
